Dental veneers are a strong and durable solution to the problem of misshapen or crooked teeth. Veneers are thin shells of tooth-coloured material that are attached to the front portion of your teeth. If you would like to change the appearance of your teeth, dental veneers provide a wonderful solution, especially for teeth that are discoloured and do not respond well to conventional teeth-whitening treatment.

What are dental veneers made of and how are they installed?

Dental veneers are made from resin composites or porcelain. Resin-composite veneers cost less than porcelain veneers, partly because porcelain is a more costly material with more complicated manufacturing demands.

We can make and install resin-composite veneers in a single seating; however, if you prefer porcelain veneers, you need to come for two visits to complete the process.

Resin-composite veneers are applied in layers to the outer surface of the tooth and are bonded to it with the help of a special ultraviolet light known as a curing light.

Porcelain veneers are attached on the surface of the tooth with special adhesive substance known as a luting cement.

Are dental veneers permanent?

If you take care of your dental veneers properly through a good oral hygiene routine and regular dental check-ups, they can last for decades. So, strictly speaking, they are not permanent but can last a very long time.

It’s important to understand, however, that porcelain veneers are permanent in another sense. Because their installation involves the irreversible process of filing down your natural teeth to make room for them, you will always need to have veneers (or crowns) on the affected teeth.

How much do dental veneers cost?

As is the case of all our dental services, setting a price for veneers is the result of a careful process in which we assess your needs and expectations and establish a plan that encompasses a range of pricing and payment solutions.

Are dental veneers covered by insurance?

We will be happy to prepare a claim for your insurance company and find out if you are covered for this procedure.

Did you know?

You don’t need to do anything special in addition to a great oral care routine to care for your dental veneers. Simply practise basic oral hygiene (brushing and flossing), come for your check-ups every six months, and don’t use your teeth to open any packaging and you’ll help ensure that your veneers remain in good shape.
